The Person Of Christmas
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
John 17:3
I am sorry to say, that many people today have lost sight of the original and true meaning of Christmas. Instead, it has become more and more secular and commercialised, focusing mainly on gift-giving or holiday parties or family gatherings. These are not necessarily wrong in themselves. However, far too often we lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas, and we fail to reflect on the greatest Christmas gift of all: God's Gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, for our salvation.
That first Christmas over 2,000 years ago, God did something wonderful, something truly amazing, something that we can barely understand, let alone comprehend: He became a man; One of us! Think of it: The God who created the universe stooped down from Heaven and became a human being-a baby!
This Christmas season, when the world seems indifferent— many things are happening in the world that are great sins in the sight of God—but remember, that in that crib in Bethlehem was born the Person who grow up to save us, and He did on the cross.
