God's Word Never Changes
The word of the Lord endures forever.
1 Peter 1:25
Every time a new politician steps into the ring, he/she promises change. But change can be good or bad. We know we should change the car oil, lightbulbs, and dirty nappies; growth requires change. But many people believe we should also change our morals, ethics, and beliefs to accommodate changes in culture. But should everything be open to change? The Bible gives us clear guidelines on what should change and what should stay the same. Furthermore, unlike culture, the Bible never changes.
God never tells us to do anything that He has clearly forbidden in His Word. God does not change, and neither does His Word.
After all, one reason God has given us His Word is so that we can know what is true and right, and also what Is not true and right. If it was wrong to murder or steal or commit adultery when God gave the Ten Commandments to His people over 3,000 years ago, then it is still wrong today. If it was wrong to reject Christ and nail Him to a cross 2,000 years ago, then it is still wrong today. As the Psalmist wrote, “The law of the Lord is perfect…. The testimony of the Lord is sure” (Psalm 19:7).
Change for its own sake is neither good nor bad. It depends on the direction the change takes you. We should be willing to change our minds and our lifestyles when we are shown from God’s infallible Word that we are wrong. We should embrace change, no matter how hard it is, when it comes from God. But we must respect that some things never change and are not meant to: pretending we can change God or His Word to fit our preferences is a dangerous idea and only leads to destruction.
God's Word is Timeless and His Promises are Everlasting!

Prayer
Great Merciful God, Your Word can always be relied on for the truth. Thank You that You never change Your mind, therefore, Your Word never changes. Bless and help those who are involved in the work of translating the Bible into the languages of the world, that all may read and hear Your Word in their own language. In Christ, I pray. Amen.
