The Precious Blood of Christ

knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things,
like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received
by tradition from your fathers, but with the
precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish . . .
1 Peter 1:18-19
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis 15:1-7.
Old Testament believers lived before Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, yet they were accepted by God through faith in what He had revealed. Genesis 15:6 says, “And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.”
God taught His people to approach Him through animal sacrifices, which symbolised the future shedding of Christ’s blood. These offerings, required under the Mosaic Law, pointed to Jesus Christ—the perfect “lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:19).
Christ’s death fulfilled the sacrificial system and secured salvation. As the book of Leviticus outlines the offerings, and Hebrews explains their fulfilment, we see one unified message: salvation by grace through faith in Christ’s atoning blood.
Old Testament saints looked forward to the cross; we now look back. In every age, God meets the deepest needs of the human heart through Jesus Christ—fully God and fully man—who died for our sins, rose from the dead, and lives forever.
If you haven’t done so, commit your life to Christ today. It’s the most important decision you will ever make.
Prayer: Father, Thank You, for the precious blood of the Lord Jesus, that saves sinners like me. In His name. Amen.
