Who Is He ?

Who can this be,
that even the wind and the sea obey Him!
Mark 4:41
Today's Bible Reading: Mark 4:35-41.
Who is Jesus Christ? Jesus (the Bible tells us) was the Son of God, who came down from Heaven to save us from our sins. Sin is not just a bad habit or a flaw in our character (although it is). Sin is rebellion against God, and as such it cuts us off from God. In Isaiah 59:2, the Bible says: Your iniquities have separated you from your God . . .
But Jesus Christ came to bridge that gap, and He did it by giving His life for us. He was without sin, but on the cross all our sins were placed on Him, and He took upon Himself our guilt and our shame. God loves us, each of us, that much!
What, then, does it mean to believe on or in the Lord Jesus? It means firstly to believe that He was who He said He was: the divine Son of God, sent from Heaven for our salvation. But the word “believe” has a much deeper meaning. It also means to trust, and when we truly believe on Christ, it means we trust Him, and Him alone for our salvation. Is that you today, are you trusting in Him alone for your salvation?
If no, I urge you to claim Him today and be saved. By a simple act of faith, in prayer, acknowledge that you are a sinner, seek His forgiveness, and ask Him to come into your life today and be your saviour.
If you are already a believer, then pray for those around you, and ask God to open ways for you to share Christ with others. Pray, too, that your life will be a witness to His love, and “that you may live a life worthy of the Lord … bearing fruit in every good work” (Colossians 1:10).
Prayer: My Father and God, thank You, for all those throughout my life time, who have pointed me to the Lord Jesus, as the One who is the Saviour of the world. In His name I thank You. Amen.
