Children Of God
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us,
that we should be called children of God!
1 John 3:1
Today, we are going to look at Romans 8:14; There the Bible says, For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. As we look at this verse, do not be afraid or put off by the use of the masculine here, “sons of God.” It could say “sons and daughters” and still me the same. It does of course mean, the children of God, Men, women, boys and girls, those that are led by the Spirit of God, they are the children of God.
In the Bible, Christians are called many things. There are many titles for the believers. There is – The Believer. Else where they are called “the saved.” Then, of course, there is the phrase “the forgiven.” Christians? Who are they? They are those who have been forgiven all their sins.
In other parts of the Bible, Christians are called “born again.” You may have heard that expression before. Those that are born again. There is this spiritual rebirth that takes place within the soul when one becomes a Christian, and they are “born again.”
Here in Romans 8:14 they are called “the sons or children of God.” Verse 14; For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. There we have it. Christians are the children of God. Are you a child of God?
