The Life
(Mini series – Part 3)

Jesus said “I Am the Life.”
John 14:6
Today's Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21.
As we continue looking at John 14:6, today we come to His third claim in this important verse. Jesus Christ declared Himself to be "The Life." What a very powerful and significant declaration with profound implications for our understanding of who Jesus is and what He came to do. Today, I want us to look at what it means for the Lord to be "The Life."
First, Christ is the life that gives us meaning and purpose. In John 10:10, Jesus says, "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." Jesus came to give us life, not just any life, but a life that is full and meaningful. Through His teachings and example, Jesus shows us how to live a life that is pleasing to God and fulfilling for ourselves, and help to others. As we follow Him, we discover the purpose and meaning that we were created for.
Second, Jesus is the life that saves us. In John 3:16, we read, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Jesus came to give us eternal life with Him in heaven. Through His death and resurrection, He opened the only way for us to have eternal life. He is the life that saves us from sin and death and gives us hope for the future.
Third, Jesus is the life that sustains us. In John 6:35, Jesus says, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." When we come to Christ and believe in Him, He sustains us. He gives us the strength and courage we need to face the challenges of life. He is the life that sustains us through the good times and the bad.
Fourth, the Lord is the life that transforms us. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we read, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." When we come to Jesus, He transforms us from the inside out. He changes us into the people that God created us to be. He is the life that transforms us into His image.
He is indeed 'The Life' that gives us meaning and purpose, the life that saves us, the life that sustains us, and the life that transforms us. As we follow Him, let us seek to know Him more deeply and to live in the light of His life.
Prayer: Merciful God, thank You, that You Son, Christ Jesus, has made me a new creation. I bless You, in His name. Amen.
