Another Day to Rejoice

This is the day the Lord has made . . .
Psalm 118:24
Today's Bible Reading: Psalm 118:21-24.
Psalm 118 is a song of praise, celebrating God's enduring mercy. In verse 24, we read: “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” This verse reminds us that each day is a gift from God—an opportunity to live with joy and gratitude.
One simple way to live out this truth is to begin each day with a prayer of thanksgiving. Before our feet touch the floor, we can pause to reflect on God's blessings, and thank Him for the gift of a new day. This sets a positive tone and refocuses our hearts on serving God and others with purpose.
We can also look for moments to rejoice throughout the day. Even when circumstances are difficult, joy can still be found—in a kind word, a moment of peace, or a small act of grace. When we intentionally focus on the good, we train our hearts to see God’s hand in all things.
Finally, we can share our joy and gratitude with others. A cheerful spirit is contagious. By living with a thankful heart, we can uplift those around us, offering encouragement even when we ourselves may be struggling. Our attitude can become a quiet testimony of God’s faithfulness.
Psalm 118:24 invites us to embrace each day as a divine gift. By beginning with gratitude, seeking out joy, and sharing that joy with others, we honour God and live out His Word in everyday moments.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for this day and the gift of life. Help me face challenges with courage and see the blessings all around me. May I reflect Your love and share Your joy with others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
