Conversion

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, . . .
2 Corinthians 5:17
Today's Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:12-19.
“There is a fountain filled with blood,” say the words of William Cowper’s hymn. That fountain speaks of more than cleansing — it speaks of conversion. The Gospel is not just about being washed — it's about being made new. God does not merely wipe away the stains of the past — He changes the heart that produced them. He does not just cover the evidence of sin — He breaks its power. He does not adjust our behaviour — He transforms our nature. The fountain that flows from Christ does not just rinse us — it remakes us — Anew.
When this fountain touches a life, everything begins to change. The lies that once shaped us lose their voice. The idols we once served begin to crumble. The things we once loved — sin, self, status — lose their grip. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 the Bible say: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
That’s not just poetry — it’s the power of real grace. Grace does not leave us where we were. It creates something new: A new heart. A new direction. A new loyalty. A new life — shaped not by deception or defiance, but by worship and truth.
This is the mark of true conversion: Not just a new Sunday routine, but a new nature. Not just the name of Christ on your lips, but His lordship over your life.
So ask yourself: Has the fountain reached your heart — or just your habits? Has it changed what you love, what you trust, what you pursue?
Do not settle for a surface wash when Christ offers a new creation. The fountain is still open — not only to cleanse your past, but to transform your present, and redefine your future.
Prayer: Loving Father, let Your fountain flow through every part of me — not just to cleanse, but to completely make me new. In Jesus' name. Amen.
