The Ark And The Cross

"For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." 

Colossians 3:3

Today's Bible Reading: Exodus 2:1-10.

In Exodus 2, we read about how the mother of Moses took desperate measures to protect her son from harm, God took the ultimate measure of sacrificing His Son on the cross to save humanity from sin and death. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God provided a way for us to be rescued and brought into a right relationship with Him.

Moses was placed in the ark of bulrushes and hidden away in the reeds by the river's bank (v 3). Likewise, we too are hidden away in Christ through faith. In Colossians 3:3, TBS: "For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are saved and made new. We are no longer slaves to sin and death, but are set free to live a new life in Him. Just as Moses was rescued from the waters of the Nile, we too are rescued from the waters of sin and death through the cross of Christ.

Furthermore, the actions of Jochebed (Moses mother) reminds us of the importance of standing up for what is right and just, even in the face of danger and opposition. In the same way, we as Christians are called to stand up for what is right and just, even when it may be difficult or unpopular.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for the reminder of salvation through the story of Moses' mother and the Ark of Bulrushes. Help me to remember the sacrifice of the cross and to stand up for what is right. Thank you for your love and faithfulness. In Christ's name. Amen.
