The Blood of Christ
The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1:7
Many people, both within and without the Church, see no need for the old-fashioned, Bible-centred, blood-bought salvation. They say things like, "Man does not need the Blood in order to be saved." We live in a time when many churches have departed from the truth of the Bible and are proclaiming a social theology, they always preach about “The Christian life” and “living the Christian life,” and doing good works, instead of a Gospel proclaiming salvation through the Blood of Christ, for salvation.
However, it matters not what Man thinks of the Gospel. What matters is what God has said! You see, just as a body emptied of blood becomes a corpse, so faith devoid of the cleansing Blood of Jesus is DEAD! The Blood is the bedrock of our faith and practice. The Church, the Bible, the Gospel and our faith, without the shed Blood of Christ, are all dead! But, thanks be to God for the Blood! I am glad that I can report to you that the Blood is still there!
Others may flee from the truth of a Bloody salvation, but I will cling to the Blood that was shed at Calvary. Religion may decry it and call it out of date, repulsive and barbaric, but I will just stick with the Blood of Jesus Christ. The hymn writer Robert Lowery got it right when he penned that old hymn, "Nothing But The Blood."
What can wash away my sin? Oh! Precious is the flow Nothing but the blood of Jesus; That makes me white as snow; What can make me whole again? No other fount I know, Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
