Uniquely Different

I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no saviour.
Isaiah 43:11
Today's Bible Reading: John 14:6-11.
The Lord Jesus Christ, was different from every other religious leader who has ever lived or ever will live, and with good reason.
The Bible, which is our only reliable source of information about the Lord Jesus, makes it very clear that Jesus was more than just another religious teacher or prophet. The Bible tells us instead that Jesus was unique—in other words, that He was not like any other religious leader who has ever lived.
How was the Lord Jesus unique?
First: He was unique in His person. He was not just an unusually spiritual individual. He was more than that: He was God in human flesh. Yes, He was fully man, but He was also fully God. The Bible puts it this way: “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9). This is what we celebrated at Christmas.
Second: The Lord Jesus was unique in His purpose. Why did He come to earth? He came for one reason: to save us from our sins. As Jesus Himself said, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10). He did this by becoming the final sacrifice for our sins through His death on the cross.
How do I know this is true? Now, this brings us to my Third point: He is uniquely different because He rose from the dead, never to die again. That is something no other leader or person has ever done: He rose from the dead. I invite you to look at the Lord Jesus as He is presented in the pages of the New Testament—and then to commit your life to Him, today!
Prayer
Almighty God, You are the author of life. I am in awe of your creation. The vast oceans reflect your majesty. The ever-changing skies renew the lands. The deep valleys carry your peace and shelter. But nothing and no one demonstrates your love for mankind more than Your One and Only Son, Jesus Christ. I praise You for Him. Amen.
