The Servant's Praise
(Miniseries on praise – Day 2)

Praise, O servants of the Lord.
Psalm 113:1
Today's Bible Reading: Psalm 113.
Psalm 113 calls us to praise the Lord—and reminds us who we truly are. We’re not just managers, farmers, homemakers, or employees. We are "servants of the Lord" (v 1).
A lady called Molly worked hard as a housekeeper but felt unappreciated. The children were rude, her hours were long, and praise was rare. But one Sunday, her perspective changed. A sermon reminded her that God’s people serve Him wherever they are and whatever they do.
From that day, Molly saw her work as service to God. Her actions became a witness of His love. Her complaints turned into praise—on the bus, in the kitchen, even while scrubbing floors. And the more she praised, the more joy filled her heart.
“Praise, O servants of the LORD,” says the Psalmist. We serve a great King, and we have the privilege of sharing in His work. Above all, we praise Him for His Son—our Saviour.
So today, remember your identity. You are a servant of the Lord. And that’s a reason to say, “Praise the Lord!” — “Hallelujah!”
Prayer: Lord and Master, As Your people, we so often forget that we are Your people who have been called to do your will. Enable me along with all your people to remember that we live to serve you. May your praise be constantly on the lips of Your servants. In Christ's name. Amen.
