In The Beginning

"In the beginning was the Word . . ."

John 1:1

Today's Bible Reading: Genesis 1:1 & John 1:1.

When we examine Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 together, we see a clear and harmonious connection between the creation account and the revelation of Jesus Christ. Both verses point to the preexistence of God and emphasise His role as the Creator. They reveal that the Lord Jesus, the Word, was present with God in the beginning and was Himself God, actively involved in the creation of all things.

In John 1:3, speaking of the Lord Jesus, the Bible says: “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”

These verses provide a foundation for understanding God's creative power and His divine plan of redemption through Jesus Christ. They remind us that all things—both the physical world and the spiritual realm—find their origin and purpose in Him. They call us to marvel at the wisdom and majesty of our Creator, and to recognise the significance of Jesus Christ as the eternal Word and the embodiment of God's salvation for sinners..

Prayer: High and Mighty God, the heavens and the earth, bear witness to Your divine handiwork. . Help me understand the significance of the Lord Jesus as the eternal Word. Guide me to be a good steward of Your creation and to follow Christ's teachings. In His name I pray. Amen.
