Non Stop Praise

(Miniseries on praise – Day 5)

ree

From the rising of the sun to its setting

the name of the Lord is to be praised.”

Psalm 113:3

Today's Bible Reading: Revelation 4:8-11.

In verse 1 of Psalm 113, we were encouraged to praise the name of Yahweh. In verse 2, we are encouraged to do it for evermore. The unchanging God never becomes unworthy of our praise. For the child of God with open eyes, time only reveals more reasons to praise Him.

Then we are told in verse 3, “From the rising of the sun to its going down” The sun shines constantly and its light illuminates every centimetre of the earth. The Psalmist is calling for God’s name to be praised everywhere and at all time. Imagine the sound such praise would make. Of course the animals, trees, mountains and seas would join in the praise. The picture is an image of heaven on earth.

From the rising of the sun to its going down: Using the Hebrew pattern of repetition, the psalmist emphasized the idea that our wonderful God is worthy of continual praise.

It is no wonder, that the throne of God is surrounded by that endless song of praise, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” (Rev 4:8).

Prayer:  Almighty God, accept my praise as I join with my brothers and sisters around the world and all creation in praising Your name. Through Your dear Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
