Praised In High Places

(Miniseries on praise – Day 6)

The Lord is high above the nations

Psalm 113:4

Today's Bible Reading: Psalm 113:1-5.

In Psalm 113:4, the Bible says, “His glory is above the heavens.” God is not only greater than all nations—His glory surpasses even the heavens. The covenant God of little Israel is greater than all creation. This truth moves the Psalmist to ask, “Who is like the LORD our God?” His supremacy over all things, in heaven and on earth, reveals His utter incomparability. Nothing in existence is greater than the One who dwells on high.

Our Lord reigns far above the nations. The Psalmist highlights God's unmatched authority and power. Not even the might of the Assyrians or Babylonians—the dominant empires of that age—can compare. From His exalted throne, the Lord sees all and rules over all.

Today, we may not face ancient empires, but we do face powerful forces and overwhelming circumstances. Some bring worry; others stir fear that borders on panic. Yet in every trial, we are not alone. It strengthens us to remember that God reigns above all, and nothing in creation can match His power.

Prayer:  O Lord who is high about the heavens, do not let me forget Your power or lose the courage that such power inspires within me. Amen.
