An Altar for the Lord
There Abraham built an altar unto the Lord.
Genesis 12:8
The life of Abraham, the friend of God, was a life of prayer. Wherever he pitched his tent, close beside it was built an altar, upon which was offered the morning and evening sacrifice. When his tent was removed, the altar remained. And the roving Canaanite, as he came to that altar, knew who had been there; and when he had pitched his tent, he repaired the altar and worshipped the living God.
Likewise, the Christian home should be lights in the world…. Every Christian should start their day with prayer, or should set time aside in the day when they can spend time with the Lord in prayer. Like Abraham, we should set up our altar and worship the Lord daily.

Prayer
Father, help me each day to spend time with You. Let me like Abraham of old, faithfully set up an altar and worship You daily. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
