Confession of Faith

"Jesus Christ is Lord "

Philippians 2:11

Bible Reading: Philippians 2:5-11.

Jesus Christ is Lord! is the earliest statement of what Christians believe. ‘You killed this Jesus on a cross. But God has made Him both Lord and Christ’ (Acts 2:36).

Throughout history, Christians have made confessions of faith declaring Jesus as Lord. One of the earliest Christian creeds, the Nicene Creed, states, "We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God..." This confession reflects the early Church's understanding of Jesus as Lord and affirms His divinity. Similarly, in the Bible, the apostle Paul writes in Romans 10:9, "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Confessing Jesus as Lord is a fundamental aspect of Christian faith and practice.

Today, may we not only confess with our lips that Jesus Christ is Lord, but also surrender our hearts to His loving rule and live each day in faithful obedience to Him.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for the many reminders that Your dear Son, Jesus Christ, is Lord and Saviour. Thank You, that He redeems all who put their trust in Him. I praise You in my Saviour's name. Amen.
