Fulfilment in Christ

"Every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:11
Bible Reading: Isaiah 45:22-25.
Yesterday, we reflected on the powerful declaration in Philippians 2:11. Today, let's travel back over 700 years to the prophet Isaiah, where God revealed a promise that would one day find its complete fulfilment in Jesus Christ. Isaiah 45:23 declares: "I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath."
What an incredible prophecy! Long before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, God had already declared that a day was coming when every person would bow before Him. This was not wishful thinking—it was God's unchangeable promise.
When we turn to Philippians 2:9-11, we discover the breath-taking fulfilment of Isaiah's prophecy. Because of Jesus' perfect obedience, His sacrificial death on the cross, and His victorious resurrection, God exalted Him above every name. The One who was mocked, rejected, and crucified is now the exalted Lord before whom every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
This truth is both a promise and an invitation. One day, every person will acknowledge Christ's lordship. The question is not if we will bow, but when. Today, we have the privilege of willingly declaring Him as our Saviour and Lord, experiencing the joy, peace, and hope that come from living under His loving rule.
Isaiah's prophecy reminds us that God's plans never fail. Every promise He makes is fulfilled perfectly in Christ. We can therefore live with confidence, knowing that Jesus reigns today and will one day be recognised by all creation as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Prayer: Dear God, I ask for Your guidance and strength as I walk this journey of faith, sharing Your message of redemption and love with others. May I be an instrument of Your grace and ambassadors of Your lordship. In my Saviour's name. Amen.
