The Visit
When they saw the star, they rejoiced.
Matthew 2:10
Today's Bible Reading: Matthew 2 10-11.
The visit of the Wise Men reminds us of God's sovereignty in revealing the Messiah to all nations. These Magi, likely scholars or astrologers from the East, followed a star—a divine sign—to worship the King of Kings. Their journey symbolises the universality of Christ's kingdom, transcending borders and cultures. Their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh signify Jesus' kingship, divinity, and eventual sacrifice. This narrative teaches us to seek Jesus with the same earnestness and to offer Him the best of our lives in worship.
We are created for community, and we feel that most keenly when we are in crisis. What might you do for someone who may feel entirely alone today?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for revealing Your Son to the world, not just to one nation but to all who seek Him. May I have the wisdom and devotion of the Magi, to pursue You with all my heart and offer You my best. Guide me by Your light in every step of my journey. In the Saviour' name, I ask. Amen.
