He [Jesus] taught in their synagogues . . .

Luke 4:15

Today's Bible Reading: Luke 4:13-15.

After being baptised and tempted in the wilderness, Jesus the Lord returned to Galilee filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. News of Him had begun to spread throughout the region, and people were eager to hear His teaching.

Jesus taught in the synagogues because they were the centre of Jewish worship and community life—places where Scripture was read and discussed—making them the natural setting for Him to proclaim God’s truth and reveal the fulfilment of the Scriptures.

As the Lord began to teach in these synagogues, He was praised and glorified by those who heard Him. His words brought hope and light to a world that was in desperate need of salvation.

Today, we too can experience the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit comes to live within us, empowering us to live a life that honours God and serves others. Just like Jesus, we can be instruments of hope and light in a world that desperately needs it.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of all believers. May I be filled with His strength and wisdom as I seek to serve and honour You. In Christ's name. Amen.
