True, Eternal Peace

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you;

not as the world gives do I give to you.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

Today's Bible Reading: Ephesians 2:13-18.

Meaningless feelings or talk about peace will not bring it to the world. Peace is more than five little letters written or painted on to a piece of cloth or a placard, carried on a march or parade. True peace is not a mere cessation of hostilities, a momentary halt in the heat of war. Rather, true peace is something positive. It is a specific relationship with God into which a person is brought. It is a spiritual reality in a human heart which has come into vital contact with the infinite God. True peace, lasting peace is found only in a relationship with God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. It is a peace that remains when the world around us is falling apart, It is a peace that gives strength and calm in the storms of life. Do you have this peace in your heart today?

Prayer: Your everlasting peace Father God, transcends the promises of mankind. I thank You for Your Peace, found only in knowing the Lord Jesus. Amen.
