Praise The Lord. Hallelujah !
(Miniseries on praise – Day 3)

Praise, the Lord.
Psalm 113:1
Today's Bible Reading: Psalm 113:1-3.
Some people seem to believe their life’s purpose is to complain. When it rains, they grumble about the gloom. When the sun shines, it’s suddenly too bright or too hot. At the supermarket, they rush to grab the special offers—yet still moan about high prices. Their meals are never satisfying, the music never suits their taste, and sermons are always too long, too boring, or both.
What’s more troubling is how easily their negativity becomes contagious. We find ourselves drawn into the same pattern—murmuring, nitpicking, and missing the bigger picture.
But the Psalmist offers a different way of seeing the world. He doesn’t deny that life has its hardships. He acknowledges the presence of the poor and needy. Yet, instead of fixating on what's wrong, he urges us to lift our eyes and focus on what God is doing.
When our attention shifts from problems to the presence and power of God, something changes in us. Praise begins to rise naturally—not forced, but as a heartfelt response.
In Psalm 113:1, we hear the call: "Praise the LORD!" This marks the third psalm in a row that begins with Hallelujah!—a declaration that is both personal and communal. "Praise, O servants of the LORD!" he continues. Those who serve God have every reason to worship Him. Their praise is not based on perfect circumstances, but on the unwavering goodness of the One they serve.
Prayer: Wonderful Lord God, help me to trade my complaints for praise as I fix my eyes on You. In Christ's name. Amen
