Lukewarm

ree

These people draw near with their mouths and honour Me with their lips,

But have removed their hearts far from Me,

and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men.

  Isaiah 29:13

Today's Bible Reading:  Revelation 3:15-20.

Sin makes an indelible impression on us in this life. Regret is not easily erased. But God can do the impossible. God can do more with a few days of time if they are given completely to Him. There are many who have lived half-hearted lives for the Lord and do not serve Him in any way. The lukewarm Christian can accomplish nothing with a whole life in which to do it.

Those who have lived for sin and self for many years, can have a strong witness when they open their hearts and mouths to testify for what Christ has done in their lives. No one can really know the full effect it can have on others who hear the miracles God has done in broken lives. When people see change in a person that has lived a life of evil, and begin to see transformation, their hearts are moved and deeply impressed by God’s power in a life that was on the road to destruction. Take every advantage to let others know the change that has been brought about through faith in Christ. Now is not the time for discouragement, but for praise to the One who redeems and saves the repentant heart.

In Ephesians 5:14-16, the Bible says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light. See then that you walk … not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

When Christ comes into a sinner’s life, He provides what is needed to live the rest of life to the glory of God. This is a great comfort and assurance for the redeemed.

Prayer:  Father, Let me be every day on fire for You. In Jesus name Amen.

What's In Your Heart ?

ree

Search me, O God, and know my heart

Psalm 139:23

Today's Bible Reading: Psalms 139:23-24.

It's more than a plea for direction; it's an invitation for divine inspection. To ask God to search us is to welcome His light into every corner of our soul — even the places we’ve tried to keep hidden.

This kind of surrender is not comfortable, but it is necessary. The psalmist isn’t simply asking God to point the way — he’s asking God to cleanse the way within. What if, in the quiet moments, God exposed our pride, our bitterness, our secret fears, or misplaced desires? Would we yield, or would we retreat?

True intimacy with God begins not with perfection, but with honesty. When we stop performing and start surrendering, God begins the deep work of transforming us. And in that place of openness, He does not meet us with condemnation — but with grace, guidance, and the promise to lead us on the everlasting path.

Prayer: O Lord my God, search my heart, cleanse what grieves You, and lead me in Your everlasting way. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Are You Still Blaming Adam ?

ree

Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  Romans 10:13

Today's Bible Reading:  Romans 10:1-13.

Adam was the fountainhead of the human race. He sprang up by the hand of God like a crystal-clear spring from the ground. Adam was permitted to choose whether he would become a river running through pleasant green pastures or a muddy torrent, cold and miserable in itself and unable to bring fruitfulness to the surrounding land.

God is most certainly not to blame for the tragic positions in which the world has so long found itself. The fault lies squarely with Adam. Adam, who was given a choice and chose to listen to the lies of the Tempter [Satan] rather than to the truth of God!

The history of the human race from that day has been the story of man’s futile effort to gain back the position that was lost by Adam’s fall. “But this is unfair!” some say. “Why should we suffer today because the first man sinned at the beginning of time? Why should we go on being punished every day of our lives?’’

Mankind attempts to excuse away sin, believing somehow that mankind can improve itself by improving his environment. Yet the first sin was committed in God’s perfect environment. Think of the cold, dark river that runs at the bottom of the deep, dreary gorge. Why doesn’t this river make its way back up to the warm, pleasant fields that lie above it? Because it cannot; it has no power within itself to do so.

The story of the river is the story of man: winding, twisting, and plunging ever deeper into the frightening darkness. In despair, we turn against God and blame Him, finding fault with His mercy and love. Humanity, every human being, is called to humble themselves before God who will forgive and grant salvation, to whoever calls upon Him through His Son Jesus Christ, will be saved (Romans 10:13)

Now, I want to ask you today, are you still blaming Adam, or have you accepted that the blame lies with you?

Prayer:  Gracious Lord God, Thank You for the Holy Spirit, who convicted me of my sins. Thank You for the Lord Jesus who died for my sins; And thank You for your love and grace to forgive me my sins, and that not because of any good thing about me, but because of the Lord Jesus and His work on the cross for me. Amen.
